Video and phone sessions
Most sessions happen from home
A phone, a tablet or a computer, and a place where you can talk without being heard.
There is no app to install. You get a link by email, and you click it at your session time. If you would rather use the phone, your clinician calls you.

What you need
Three things, and a plan for when one fails
A private place
Anywhere you can talk without being heard, in Maine or New Hampshire. A parked car works if that is the quiet place you have.
A screen or a phone
Any phone, tablet or computer. The link comes by email, and you need no account.
A way to reach us
Text (207) 555-0108 or write to hello@rootworkcounseling.com if anything does not work, and we help another way.
When something goes wrong
Signal, power and weather
- 01
Step 1: The picture freezes
Turn your camera off, or hang up and your clinician calls you. A voice-only session is a real session.
- 02
Step 2: The signal drops
Your clinician calls you on the phone number you gave, and you carry on from there.
- 03
Step 3: The power goes out
Call or text us if you can. We reschedule, and it does not count as a late cancellation.
Questions about sessions from home
Do I need to be in Maine during a session?
You need to be in Maine or New Hampshire, the states where our clinicians are licensed. Gene Walker and Dr. Chandrasekhar are licensed in both. Everyone else is licensed in Maine.
Can someone else be in the room?
Please find a place where you can talk without being overheard. If you cannot, tell your clinician, who can help you plan for a phone session, a walk, or another time.
Do I need to turn my camera on?
No. You can turn it off at any time, and you can use your voice alone.
Not sure it will work where you live?
Tell us your town and what your connection is like. We say what we can do.
